Typhoon Ambo 2012

Our climb was scheduled last June 2, 2012 but we watched from the television that there will be a typhoon named "AMBO" first typhoon of the year 2012 but the night of June 1 there's no any sign of typhoon, so we didn't postponed our climb. Instead 0400H we met at the Taft Avenue but for some reason we need to adjust our itinerary to observe the weather condition but everything was alright, no heavy rain and strong wind so we thought the weather would be good.

When we are already at the jump off at the Evercrest, It started to rain so we have no option but to continue our hike. This was my first most adventurous climb in the mountain, although it was my second minor climb because we experienced the heavy rain, strong wind, foggy mountain and muddy trail and the challenging part we don't have a guide, no one in group knew the trail the only thing can I say is that "Palakasan nalang ng loob" we might get lost or fall. we only knew that there is old trail and new trail according to our research with that mountain, but we are lucky because there is also other group of hikers who also climb so we just fallowed them, we asked them "anong trail po dito" they said that "new trail" because we have no idea about the trail and they also give us some tips what to do after we passed the new trail we went to "old trail para daw sulit"

Registration area

When we reached the registration area we asked the collector of registration fee if it is applicable to going down in old trail she said that for now it is dangerous because of strong wind and heavy rain and also the fog was almost covering the mountain, so we decided after we reach the summit we will do the backtrail.

I think at the camp site they were selling beverages and hard drinks because i saw an empty bottles at the registration area. "NOT SAFE FOR THE HIKERS".

 Peak 10 before the summit

Mendez bolalohan

After our climb we went in Mendez Batangas highway to eat their famous dishes the Bulalo for 300Php good for 4 person is what you call "sulit".

At the rockies peak of Mt. Maculot you can see the view of Taal Volcano
