Grotto Tungko - Our Lady of Lourdes

My new friend Librero – San Josenyong Gala, also a travel blogger from Bulacan set an event for us to attend the Singkaban festival in Malolos Bulacan. It would also be a great opportunity to invite also other travel bloggers for them to meet also fellow bloggers with same passions in traveling. I invited Jun of lakwatserong Opis Worker and Billy of Galaero Escape Travels. Librero put in our itinerary to visit first the churches in Bulacan before the Festival starts at 1:00PM.

Our meet-up with Librero was at Jollibee Tungko. Someone called my name and I didn’t expect I’ll meet also my some of my other climb buddies who have also a climb at Mt. Maranat. Past 9:00AM we left at the Jollibee our first destination is Grotto Tungko. Near beside Jollibee there’s a jeep going to Muzon that will pass by Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Replica of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes
This Church is already familiar to me since I was in college because majority of my classmates are from Bulacan they said this is one of the popular pilgrimage destination during Holy Week for the catholic devotees. This Church in Tungko is the replica of Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. This Church is a private property owned by a devout catholic family who was once cured from illness by the miraculous Virgin Mary of Our Lady of Lourdes in France.

I feel I'm in Lourdes France... just kidding hahahaha

Grotto

At the back of the Church you can see the rosary hill, the station of the cross (Calvary Hill) and the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes where we noticed at the left side of the grotto there’s a crutches hanging and according to our friend Librero those crutches are healed from their illnesses because of there faiths with the Our lady of Lourdes.

Spring water

There is also miraculous spring water on the foreground below the Grotto according to the story the owner who were cured from illness, the Lourdes water were mixed into the spring water and they believed until now that the spring water is miraculous.

Believe it or not the right foot Jun was in pain that time after he washed his foot at the spring water suddenly he noticed that pain was gone during our walking tour around Bulacan. Maybe one the reason was he believes with the miracle of the spring water.

Because I'm a nature lover when we were there I feel the tranquility of the place and also surrounded by huge trees velvety on eyes.

After we visited the Grotto in Tungko our next destination was the St Joseph the worker in San Jose Del Monte Bulacan and Barasoin Church in Malolos Bulacan. Please the shrine is not a dating place, it is a place for prayers and reflection, please respect it. This church can be located in Barangay Manggang Tungko, San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan.

How to get there by commute:

For the Southern part area like Baclaran and Makati ride a bus with a signboard going to Tungko, Jollibee as your landmark. Near beside the Jolibee ride a jeep going to Muzon inform the driver you will drop you in Grotto.

For the Manila area like Taft and Quiapo ride a bus or fx going to SM Fairview. At the SM Fairview ride again a bus or jeep going to Tungko, Jollibee as your landmark. Near beside the Jolibee ride a jeep going to Muzon inform the driver you will drop you in Grotto.

If you are from near Novaliches Quezon City area at Novaliches Bayan there are jeeps directly to Grotto Tungko.
