Second day in Nueva Ecija we don’t have an itinerary, we don’t know yet where to go luckily I have a photocopy of all possible tourist destination in Nueva Ecija we went to Cabanatuan Public Terminal where we can ask the locals the best place to visit. Our first option was Pantabangan Dam because the place is very common. We change our plan, also our main target more on nature trip not a man made tourist attraction. The group decided to go to Gabaldon Falls, a trike driver approached our group asking where our destination, we asked if he knows the Gabaldon Falls he knew the place but he don’t know exactly the waterfalls is, our buddy Weng she negotiated with the fee how much will be his service, the trike driver’s first offer was 1,200.00 for roundtrip but we asked a discount of 200.00, fortunately he deal with 1,000.00.

Dupinga River

I never expected that it was very far it was almost a 2hours we travel on a trike, the bad thing was I can’t stretch my feet inside the trike. Instead I do complaint inside the trike because of my aching and numbing feet and also the wind-chill that adds torture to my body, I turned my attention the beautiful scenery of Nueva Ecija or known as Rice Bowl of the Philippines while we were on the road, I was captivated with the mountain ranges of Sierra Madre, the vast space of rice fields and the rapids flow of the Dupinga river.

Eco Park

 Hawk

 Python

Koi fish

At 10:45AM we arrived in Ecopark where you can see the live snakes, fishes, hawk and other kind of animals. We registered and paid our entrance fee 20.00 each and guide 100.00 per group, going to Gabaldon Falls is only 30minutes of hike.

Bamboo bridge

Along the trail they made a bamboo bridge used by the hikers and there also short portion of river crossing.

Gabaldon Falls (c) Gilda

The waterfall is surrounded by green foliage tree and huge rock formations and located within the 200 hectare Sabani Estate Agricultural College. The ice-cold water, colorful butterflies flying around, gush of rushing waters and the tranquility of the place, indeed a perfect place to visit and to unwind.

Exploring Nueva Ecija: Minalungao National Park

How to get there

Ride a bus bound for Cabanatuan, like Baliwag Transit, Five Star, and ES Transport at EDSA Cubao.

At Cabanatuan terminal ride a jeep or hire a trike directly to Gabaldon town proper. the travel time almost 2hours.

When you are already at Gabaldon ask the locals where to find the Eco Park because at the Eco Park where you will register and arrange for a guide, the hike going to the Gabaldon falls it's only 30-45minutes.
