Tourist destination of Real Quezon - The Park Pacific Recreation Park, Balagbag Falls and Nonok Falls

It was August 28, 2015 when we first visited Real Quezon which is a long weekend for all of us as we celebrate Ninoy Aquino Day, thanks to him!  We already packed our stuff before weekend but with a little hesitation because of the weather. The typhoon Ineng brought heavy rains, strong gust of winds and hit the northern part of Luzon a week before our most awaited vacation.

Fortunately the last weekend of August (29 & 30) was good to us; me and my partner had the chance to explore the area. Each adventure and travel is more memorable when we meet new friends and be with some old friends for a quality time. As the saying goes "the more, the merrier". Sad to say, it's just the two of us and no one was able to join us because they had prior commitment. But it’s okay because I’m with her and we got all the time together and consider this trip as our post monthsary celebration. Ayeeeee so sweet! Haha

Jump-off

Saturday morning August 26th, I fetched her from their office since she's working in a night shift. We rode a bus via Raymond Transportation bus company located at Legarda and we arrived just in time to catch the first trip 4:00AM going to Infanta. Fare going to The Park Pacific Recreation Park costs P195.00 each. At the ticket booth we only said that we will get off at Real Quezon and didn’t mention the exact name of the place so we were charged with much higher fare. The conductor said that from Legarda to Tignoan Real Quezon, the fare only costs P175.00. It's a lesson learned for a tipid travellers like us. At least now we know... next time. Hehe.

It was almost 4-hours of travel because of heavy traffic caused by the road construction. When we arrived at The Park, a very accommodating man and owner of The Park Mr. Teody Villaflor greeted us and discussed to us everything about the places to go and different activities for the guests. Being a first timer in that place, you can already feel the calmness: no videoke at all even at night or daytime! All you can hear is the splash of the waves, which is our main reason for this weekend escape. The Park had a vast space where you can set your hammock and tents.

Setting up our tent and hammock while waiting kuya Danny our guide

We rest for a while, pitched our tent and set our hammock. Unfortunately we can’t contact Kuya Danny, our contact tricycle driver and guide for that day. So we just hired other driver going to Balagbag and Nonok Falls.

Balagbag falls

We're so lucky when in we are at Balagbag falls, no other tourists for that day aside from us and it’s a bliss! Nothing you can hear but just the water falls.

If you are a good swimmer, got no fear of heights and you want more adventure; you can try to jump at the cliff down to the catching basin but need extra effort to climb a little higher to reach the second level of the waterfall which is another amazing view. But before you do that, you'll witness first the huge rock formations and waterfalls.

We can't wait that long that we pampered our tired body rightaway for a free massage from that natural cold water of Balagbag Falls.

Art takes nature as its model. - Aristotle

Going to Nonok falls

After an hour of stay at Balagbag Falls, we decided to leave and moved to a neighboring waterfall of Balagbag; the Nonok Falls - it is smaller and has clearer water than Balagbag Falls that has a perfect picture scenery and where you can relax with your family and friends. I can say that this waterfalls is somehow looks like Gabaldon Falls in Nueva Ecija.

Nonok falls

Balagbag and Noknok falls have P20.00 entrance fee each and P200.00 for the cottage. Its almost 2PM when we went back to The Park Pacific Recreation Park and time to visit the Tignoan beach which is the surfing destination of south, near Metro Manila. Both Real Quezon and Infanta Quezon is the gateway to Pacific, so you will expect big waves suitable for the surfers.

Because the landscape has always been an integral part of my life, I have developed a deep sense of belonging to nature rather than feeling apart from it or above it. - Clyde Aspevig

Rest time after our water falling adventure

I cooked tuna pasta for our early dinner, thank God my partner loved it! Ehem as she said "pwede ng mag asawa", hindi niya alam strict ang parents ko. Haha. And so we savour the night with some shots of gin bulag and spent our quality time, the "us" time. Talking about anything under the sun, or moon rather.

Early morning the next day, I prepared breakfast for her while she's sleeping. When done preparing all, I woke her up as if there's fire outside our tent and somehow she was shocked because she was deeply sleeping but suddenly she realized that I was just kidding. Thankfully she got surprised, almost crying but painted a big smile all over her face when she saw a mini cake with a simple message how much I love her. Dagdag pogi points na naman. Hehehe.

After our breakfast a guy approached me, kayo ba kaibigan ni Yam? Ako si Danny yung tricycle driver, he explained why we can’t contact his mobile number because there’s no signal in his place and he felt sorry to us. He is nice and very accommodating to us, he offer his service without any charge. As he said "Hindi ako naghahangad ng malaking bayad, ang sa akin ay masaya ang mga bisita ko at tuloy-tuloy lang ang aking serbisyo."

We enjoyed the rest of our day by watching the surfers playing with the big waves. We felt so envious that we don’t have the guts to try mainly because we don’t know how to swim. So sad....

Quezon is very blessed. They have pristine beaches, waterfalls, mountains and historical sites and the good thing is, it is near Metro Manila which is one of the go-to place whenever we want to escape away from the metro.

Thanks!

Renante Mina said...

@Richard Ramirez yung the Park tapat niya ay dagat, then from the Park kailangan mo sumakay ng Trike na maigigng guide mo narin sa pagpunta sa waterfalls. siguro mga 5-10mins na ride from the Park sa waterfalls Noknok at Balagbag falls medyo magkatabi lang yan magkasunod.. pero every falls ay may registration fee po.. maraming salamt ingat
