Gerry's Jeepney and KKK Coffee in Maginhawa Street Quezon City

Instead of going out for a date, giving chocolates or a bouquet of flowers to my partner, we did something extra unique. I have a gift for her but it will be "just-between-the-two-of-us" story. Hehe. It is actually our first Valentines being "us" yet we are not that "pabebe" anymore, haha, so we decided and tried our luck to invite our Tropang Bangag for a merienda-turned-into-dinner kind of date last Valentines day.

A lot of customers waiting

Yes, we really tried our luck because these people are too busy with their travels roaming around our country. They are aiming to explore all the 81 provinces in the Philippines. Fortunately, they don’t have scheduled trip that day so we suggested and tried the unique restaurant in Maginhawa Street featured in TV before, the Gerry's Jeep.

Colorful jeepneys

Isn't it cool to experience eating inside a jeepney? The design also has an interesting concept of places like byaheng Alabang, Quiapo or Monumento etc. The 4 fully decorated jeepneys on display are very attractive to the customers. There is also local games like sungka and chess board that can be played by the customers while waiting for their turn to be served and eat inside the jeepney. We literally waited for 9 groups before we get served. So just a friendly reminder, be sure to be there early to avoid long que in waiting just like what we experienced, we waited for almost 2 hours just to try  their pinoy food and eat inside the jeepney.

Tara biyahe na tayo

With the Tropang Bangag at last we can eat now for a long waiting

The food was nice and fun in a boodle fight set-up but I am expecting more servings. Nevertheless, the whole experience got extra special because I did not only enjoyed the food but the companion of your forever partner in life and with your too busy close friends around is a bonus. Hahaha, cheezy. Mas madalas natutuloy ang lakad kapag hindi pinaplano. True enough, everyone enjoyed this unplanned food trip slash date at this unique restaurant.

KKK Coffee

Our vision is to have KKK Coffee Real and authentic Filipino coffee at every streetcorner in the Philippines and where Filipinos convene abroad. Filipino coffee para sa lahat!

After our dinner, we went to KKK Coffee which is just 10 minutes tricycle ride away from the restaurant. The ambiance is also unique and a good place to try if you are looking for a quite and peaceful place. In our case, its only our group that time so we've got no one to bother. Kape pa more!
